That's bone erosion and no.

Probably not but can't say for sure. Here's what we know about bone. It doesn't grow/heal as well as we age. Most bone grafts resorb unpredictable amounts. Sometimes they don't take too. For a chin a sliding genio is better but less aesthetic IMO. I would ask about a demineralized bone graft. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Orthopedics undergoing revolution right now, by the time it matters you'll have good options for fixing it.

Go sliding genioplasty.  If chin implant, get x2 microscrew fixation, first to hold it firmly against the bone and second to prevent rotation around the first.
