My thoughts: I think my face lacks a lot of forward growth, especially when it comes to the mandible.
In my opinion I need to do bimax + sliding genioplasty/chinwing.
Sadly the surgeon I consulted with told me bimax would be a pretty bad choice in my case, since it would make my
nose even wider from the front, increase the nasolabial angle even more thus making the nostrils more visible from the front.
I think a sliding geniplasty/chinwing could improve the profile by a lot itself. But I also suspect that my
nose will always look big/distort the facial harmony unless I get forward grown jaws.
Changing the nose is something I am very careful of, since I have seen a lot of bad results and surgeons dont seem
to be as knowledgeable when it comes to male nose aesthetics. (Compared to female nose aesthetics).
Right now I am thinking of getting chinwing + zso (zygomatic sandwich osteotomy), chinwing to improve the profile,
and zso just because I want to distract from my big nose.
I am kinda afraid I wont be happy with these results, thus having to undergo bimax which could possibly conflict
with the changes made during the chinwing. (projection could suddenly be too much)
Some additional information: I am 19 years old. I wore braces for 4-5 years and often had to wear rubber hands you manually apply to the braces.
Sadly I cant remember if they pulled maxilla or mandible (or none of them) back.
The surgeon sent me some simulations what a bimax would change.
