Should I get a surgery for my recessed jaw?

I'm 16 yo almost 17 and considering a surgery for my underdeveloped and recessed jaw. I breathed through my mouth most of the time in my childhood. My father has a good jaw and strong jawline, mother's normal. Does my jaw look so recessed that I should get a surgery for it?

Hard to tell just from this picture to conclude that you need jaw surgery. You could get a genioplasty if you want to move your chin forward and up to reduce some height. Right now it looks like what I've seen called negative chin. Granted it doesn't look terrible.

Well, you should consult with a maxfax surgeon and or ortho to determine if you have an 'open bite'. You look like you could have that but only X rays will tell you for sure.
