Lucky him he only had to have upper jaw surgery
He says he had bimax:

"more beacause at the beginning they told me that it would be just upper jaw surgery but now is a bi jaw surgery.. so im a little bit nervous about numbness and pain but my surgeon told me that i will have better results if i do both so is ok !"

This girl has the same set-up as me: http://openbiteblog.blogspot.com/

Of course looking good before surgery sure didn't hurt her final results

women are lucky they can hide flaws with makeup, she has really low cheekbones from profile view http://openbiteblog.blogspot.com/p/with-braces-pre-jaw-surgery.html

But apply a little makeup and they become prominent

She had the same confusions I did about being a class iii and having a convex profile: http://openbiteblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/class-iii-malocclusion-convex-profile.html

her cheekbones are fine. they arent wide but natural for her face. low-set cheekbones would be seen in the orbital area. i say she is lucky because her deformity or whatever we call it is exclusive to her jaw. if her upper jaw became displaced in a major way she would not look as good...

I see.

Well at any rate her profile looks almost spot-on to mine. Similar lengths, flatness, bulging lower lip. If only my face looked as good as hers from the front I'd be set

I don't know what you mean by seeng cheekbones in the orbital area, are you talking about the way they protrude from the face in 3/4ths view?

ignore the profile it can be deceiving. low set cheekbones i mean low set cheekbones due to vertical growth. if the upper jaw becomes displaced the cheekbones will grow around the jaw, downward. because they are denied forward growth they are set low, on top of the upper jaw. this has a tendency to elongate the midface but that's another story.

her cheekbones are great for her, totally normal . by seeing in the orbital area i meant absence, people with low set cheekbones will lack support in the orbital area because not a lot of growth occurred there.
